Birdwatching

Razorbill in a blue sky

Sävö is a good place to start birdwatching in the vast archipelago of Sörmland. It is close to the islands Långö-Ringsö-Hartsö-Enskär- Hartsö. All of them have a varied landscape, meadows, fields and mixed forests with a lot of old oaks and pine trees.

Beyond these islands – in the outer archipelago- many breeding birds have disappeared. But during springtime and the fall there are still good opportunities to observe migrating birds. A visit to the bird observatory at Enskör shows bird banding from August to October.
